Opera for the Young’s adaptation of Beauty and the Beast brings this classic fairy take alive for young children. Vivid characterizations for both professional and elementary school cast members draw young audiences into the story’s universal themes:
Beauty is not skin deep, the redemptive power of love and bravery, and the challenge and reward of familial responsibility.
Children from the host school play the children of the Beast's servant and a chorus of Exotic Birds; and your faculty actors will take on the challenge of being the magic waterfall.
Beauty and the Beast is a special addition to our repertoire in honor of Opera for the Young's 45th anniversary.
